Fort Worth Alliance Air Show

Saturday we were able to make it out to the Fort Worth Air Show that featured the BLUE ANGELS! There is a lot to see and do at the air show! There are many performances throughout the day of different stunts performed by a variety of planes. Of course, the Blue Angels are always the last to perform. We were able to see several military planes and helicopters.  Two commercial airplanes from American Airlines were also at the show: an American Eagle jet and a 777! I enjoyed the 777 the most...that plane is huge...and I wish I could ride on it one day! We had to wait awhile in line to see the 777 and we didn't understand why.  Finally, we got on the plane and found out that they were giving small group tours. The year before we just walked through. So, it was worth the wait for sure. I did get to SIT in the pilot's chair and touch the throttle!!!!!! WOW! It was so amazing to sit in the "driver's seat." I only wish I could go in the cock pit while in flight, but those days are over. A co-pilot was there with us and answered a lot of our questions.  I also met a stewardess that makes weekly flights from DFW to Frankfurt, Germany and she let me see where they get to sleep while off duty.

The Blue Angels were great to see. They are amazing! We live within a few miles of Alliance Airport which is where the airshow was held.  So we also got to see the Blue Angels practice the day before on Friday and perform again on Sunday which was the second day of the air show. Our house is on their flight path during the show! They are actually turning around over our house. It is quite a sound to hear them fly over your home...loud doesn't even describe it. The scary thing is by the time you hear it they are long gone. It is really impressive to see what our military can do and sure does make you proud!!! Here are some of the pictures and a few videos of the show. I had my camera on the wrong setting so the pictures have a blue tint to them....oh well.

Living Word Assembly of God

Yesterday we spent the day in Paris which is in northeast Texas. It is practically on the Texas - Oklahoma border. Our pastor was preaching both the morning and evening service at Living Word Assembly of God there in Paris. So, since it was only a two hour drive...some of our church went over to hear him preach. After the evening service, the ladies had prepared sandwiches and desserts! God moved in both services and we enjoyed the fellowship with everyone too! We love our new church family!

Mitty Moo...

Here is a video of our neighbors cat named Mitty. I call her Mitty Moo. She is sweet and likes to come for a visit. I am glad that she does belong to someone because she is easy to love! Mitty is about 10 weeks old and full of energy!!

The McIntosh Cats...

Cliff and I have two cats...Little Boo, the Siamese, and Shadow, the black cat.  Little Boo moved with us from Beaumont, but Shadow was added after the move.  They both have their quirks for sure, but we love them.  Boo lives up to his Siamese image...CRANKY...most of the time.  If you leave him alone he's fine.  He does have his sweet moments and you know he is in a loveable mood when he gets sweet because it doesn't happen often.  Shadow, on the other hand, well, he's real sweet to me, but pretty much scared of everyone else.  Considering we thought he was wild and that we weren't going to be able to keep him-he's come a long way.  He's not the kind of cat that wants to be in your lap all the time, but he does show favoritism to me and not Cliff!  Some people don't like the way cats aren't super friendly, but I like that because they don't require the time a dog needs...especially since you don't have to walk them to use the bathroom!  Anyway, here are some pictures of what they do best....REST!

Boo loves this basket!

and this is Shadow's favorite basket!
I wish I really understood why they like tight places...
like baskets and boxes!!
And why do they like to get on papers-especially the ones I NEED!

This is not good...on my towels!

Oldies but Goldies!

Cliff and I have been enjoying several classic TV shows and movies lately.  Some of them...of course are Disney, but a few of them have been other new ones too!  We have gotten hooked on the Donna Reed Show.  They just started putting it out on DVD in the last year.  Season 1 came out October of 2008 and Season 2 came out in July of this year.  I just read that Season 3 is due out in October!!  Needless to say, we are excited!

A Disney movie that will be added to our favorite list is Third Man on the Mountain.  The lead character is James MacArthur.  For all you Disney fans out there, you will recognize him from Swiss Family Robinson.  Some how I missed that one growing up, but I definitely want to buy it.  Of course, you have to buy it on the internet.  I know you can get it at Walmart.com and another site for cheaper movies is Half.com.  It is powered by E-bay.

If you are looking for some of the oldies but goldies...give these a try!!
